Our business and corporate law attorneys are highly experienced and have practiced at large and small law firms and owned and operated start-up companies.  We assist companies with respect to choice of entity, business formation, debt and equity financing, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions and commercial contracts of all types.

Our real estate and land use group is highly experienced with all manner of real estate transactional work, from purchase and sale agreements to commercial leases. We have experience with retail properties, industrial warehouses and processing facilities, agricultural land, and condominiums. Our local government land use and development practice ranges from preliminary property analyses and building permit issues to complex land use reviews and hearings.

Our litigation practice group has represented Fortune 500 companies, national and regional financial institutions, and private companies of all sizes in high-stakes commercial litigation, arbitration and mediation. We pride ourselves on our knowledge of our clients’ businesses and we work hard to avoid disputes in the first place. If litigation cannot be avoided, we strive to eliminate unnecessary fees and costs while always providing “big firm” quality representation and experience with a personal touch.

Our attorneys were among the first in Oregon to adopt cannabis and hemp regulatory law as a practice area within a full-service business law firm. We have worked with hundreds of companies in these industries on licensing, compliance, enforcement and administrative law hearings. We also have represented breweries, restaurants and vineyards in a variety of matters and transactions.

Our attorneys are experienced in a wide variety of insolvency-related matters. We have represented trustees, receivers, lenders, trade creditors, creditors’ committees, equity holders and other parties in interest in bankruptcy and state courts throughout Oregon and Washington. Our attorneys have deep roots in the Pacific Northwest insolvency landscape, having served on bar committees, authored bar publications and presented at numerous continuing legal education events related to bankruptcy and receiverships.

Our employment law and IP practice supports the work we do helping clients form and finance businesses, providing key services in these areas that every successful business must navigate to some extent. Our employment lawyers assist employers with everything from preventative measures like employee handbooks and anti-discrimination and harassment policies to litigation involving state agencies and former employees. Our IP group works with clients to obtain and enforce federal and state trademarks, to identify and protect trade secrets and to license any number of types of IP, from patents and copyright to trademark and the use of a client’s likeness or image for promotional purposes.
